We continue to implement the European standard of living in student dormitories of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic

We are pleased to announce the updates in student dormitory No. 5 of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University.

The Trade Union Committee of students and the administration of the university campus are engaged in the placement of people who were forced to evacuate from temporarily occupied territories and zones of active hostilities in five student dormitories of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic. To support them, work was started with the Czech humanitarian organization «Person in Need» in October 2022.

As a result, with the financial support of the European Union and in partnership with the organization «Person in Need», comprehensive construction work began in November in student dormitory No. 5.

To date, the work has already been completed, namely: 24 old window frames have been replaced with energy-saving metal-plastic ones (in living rooms in the amount of 18 pieces; in common kitchens – 2 pieces; in drying rooms – 2 pieces, in the hall of the floor – 2 pieces), and 10 new metal-plastic doors have been installed (at the entrance to the floor in the amount of 2 pieces, in drying rooms – 2 pieces, exit to the balconies – 6 pcs.)

Repair work was carried out in 9 public sanitary rooms: tiles were laid, walls were painted, toilets, sinks and shower trays were replaced, 27 metal-plastic entrance doors to showers and toilets were installed, new lamps were installed and all plumbing was replaced.

Electric water heaters (6 pieces) appeared in the dormitory, which will provide residents of 24 dormitory rooms with hot water.

We thank the international humanitarian organization for its responsiveness and concern for creating comfortable conditions in the student dormitories of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, where citizens from temporarily occupied territories have now found shelter.
