Positions of crossminton players of NU «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic» in the CWR ranking
The Department of Physical Culture, Olympic and Non-Olympic Sports has a sports improvement group – crossminton, which is attended by both higher education students and scientific and pedagogical workers of the higher education institution.
Over the past four years, the group members have significantly improved their results according to the Crossminton World Rankings. As of December 2024:
1. Liya Galchenko — Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Education, Olympic and Non-Olympic Sports) in the category:
- Women Singles — from the top–500 entered the top thirty of the world ranking and became the first female racket of Ukraine
- Open Doubles — entered the top–100 of the world ranking and became the third racket of Ukraine
2. Oleksiy Kapustyan — Head of the Department of Integrated Welding Technologies and Structural Modeling in the category:
- Open Singles — from the top–500 entered the top–100 of the world ranking and became the second racket of Ukraine
- Open Doubles — entered the top–100 of the world ranking and became the fourth racket of Ukraine
3. Dmytro Shyrokorad — Associate Professor of the Department of System Analysis and Computational Mathematics in the Open Doubles category entered the top–500 of the world ranking
4. Vasyl Pazynych — student of the IF–412 group in the category:
- Open Singles — entered the top–200 of the world ranking
- Open Doubles — entered the top–300 of the world ranking
5. Oleksiy Lepyoshkin — student of the IF–412 group in the category:
- Open Singles — entered the top–500 of the world
- Open Doubles — entered the top–300 of the world ranking
6. Ivan Matveyev, a student of the UFCS-412 group in the Open Singles and Open Doubles categories, entered the top-400 of the world ranking.
The participants are trained for the competition by teachers of the Department of Physical Culture, Olympic and Non-Olympic Sports and the NGO «Cross-Mintoon Federation of Zaporizhzhia Region» – secretary and head coach of the federation Liya Galchenko and head of the federation – Oleksiy Kapustyan.
