Results of the «Financial Literacy» module of the «Project Thinking» group of the Children’s and Youth Scientific University
During two months, the students of DYUNU learned interesting facts about the appearance of money and the variety of its forms, which they acquired during the existence of mankind. The students were told the greatest stories of financial scams in the world, and then taught how to recognize and avoid scams. This knowledge was strengthened by the concepts of cyber security. Now they know how to create strong passwords, the dangers of QR codes and whether it’s even safe to use NFC via a smartphone.
Students studied the main rules of tax legislation of Ukraine, types of taxes and their purpose. They learned the principles of using statistical data in various branches of the economy: finance, banking, insurance. We looked at the types of credit and deposit operations, dealt with the efficiency of the enterprise’s functioning in view of the level of profit obtained.
