Partnership in the European University Alliance
The Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University has joined the international alliance of SUNRISE universities, which unites 16 universities under the leadership of the Ilmenau University of Technology, Germany (TUIL, Germany).
The SUNRISE Alliance represents an alliance of young, dynamic and local small universities. The goal is to strengthen the role of such universities as innovation poles for the development of industry and society outside megacities, connecting local societies and the local level with the national, European and international.
The SUNRISE Alliance will strengthen and focus attention on the mission of the consortium universities, increase the rankings and reputation of universities, which will help attract more students. The alliance aims to promote the local economy by adopting a European perspective and promoting sustainable/circular practices: «Think globally and act locally».
In particular, the alliance has the following main objectives:
- Promoting international education and creating new and innovative curricula
- Forming the cornerstones of the university alliance: learning from each other in education, science and governance. The Alliance aims to create an inclusive, digitalised and international workplace that functions as an integrated community.
- Promoting European values
- Strengthening international research cooperation
- Strengthening collaboration between academia and industry across all university missions
- Strengthening innovation and technology transfer, and creating a shared «stakeholder network.»
The Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University has been cooperating with the Technical University of Ilmenau, Germany, since 2012 within the framework of Tempus and Erasmus projects.
