Renovation of the student dormitory of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University No. 2

On June 21, Rector Viktor Greshta, Vice-Rector Andriy Ivanchenko and Director of the Student Campus Vadym Dubyna visited the dormitory No. 2.

The head of the dormitory Anna Borisova conducted a tour for representatives of the administration to familiarize themselves with the results of the work performed:

• with the help of the university’s energy and mechanical service, the hot and cold water supply wiring in the showers was replaced
• boilers were installed in the kitchens
• with the help of the IOM and the Right to Protection Charitable Foundation, the gas stoves were completely replaced
• new washing machines were installed
• the central entrance to the dormitory was replaced and handrails
• old lamps are constantly being replaced with new LED lighting in common rooms and corridors
• the humanitarian mission «Proliska» purchased and transferred to the dormitory new furniture (beds, mattresses, wardrobes, bedside tables, shelves, kitchen tables and chairs), which helped create comfortable living conditions in the rooms
• the renovation of the dormitory corridors has begun, repairs have been made on the fifth floor; materials for the repair of the fourth floor were purchased at the university’s expense, and the third floor was repaired at the expense of the IOM;
• a major repair was carried out in the toilet on the fifth floor, plumbing and materials were provided to us by «Right to Protection» and IOM.

As part of the project of the International Organization for Migration, a room for the development and useful leisure of residents was opened in the dormitory. IOM allocated funds for building materials for the renovation, as well as purchased furniture and equipment to furnish the room. The renovation work was carried out with the participation of the administrative and economic department and the campus staff.
