Dorm Update #5

Rector Viktor Greshta, together with Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Socio-Economic Development and Youth Policy Andriy Ivanchenko and Director of the Student Campus Vadym Dubina visited dormitory No. 5. The manager of the dormitory, Kateryna Yurkevich, introduced the recently completed works.

All the necessary work on setting up and installing an individual heat point (ITP) with weather-dependent regulation of the heat flow has been successfully completed. ITP is the «heart» of the building’s heat consumption system, which allows you to correctly connect to the heat network and effectively manage the building’s heating system. The installation of ITP was an important step to ensure the building’s energy efficiency — now we have the technical ability to automatically optimize energy consumption taking into account a comfortable temperature for residents and reduce heating costs.

Within the framework of the project «Conditional monetary assistance to collective centers» from the International Organization for Migration, the replacement of old hot and cold water supply pipes and sewage pipes with new metal-plastic ones was carried out from the 1st to the 9th floors.

The opening of the updated rooms for development and comfortable leisure time for the residents of the dormitory was especially pleasant. Thanks to the support of the IOM, the necessary materials were purchased for carrying out repair work and equipping the rooms with modern furniture and organizational equipment. All works were carried out with the participation of administrative and economic services and employees of the student campus.

During the meeting, a further vector of development and improvement of living conditions in the dormitory was determined.
