Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University continues its cooperation with Cardiff University!

Together with its teachers, we are improving our English communication skills.

Currently, 3 courses are available: Speaking Club for teachers and students, the course «Academic English» and the course «Improving professional skills for English teachers».

It was the second time I attended classes at the Speaking Club. Each time the teacher selects interesting topics for discussion, provides new words to expand the vocabulary according to the topic.

During classes, we discuss interesting features of the English language, rules of pronunciation, accent.

The teacher corrects mistakes in a very correct manner, gives examples, encourages not to be afraid to speak.

Classes are held in a relaxed atmosphere, I will be very happy to improve my level of speaking English again at the courses from Cardiff University!

I had a very pleasant experience with this new way of learning English.

During the speaking club, I was immersed in an English-speaking environment. It helped me to acquire new language skills and overcome the barrier to communicate in English.

Thanks to the division of the group into subgroups of 2-3 people, everyone had the opportunity to express their point of view.

Speaking Club with Richard Benson helped me understand that I need to speak English more often and work on correct pronunciation. Richard paid a lot of attention to the pronunciation of difficult words.

Topics for conversation were selected based on a survey of students’ interests.

I think that semester courses with one lesson per week are a good form for maintaining English conversation skills.

To improve and achieve fluency in English, I would like to continue classes on various other topics, for example, word formation. It would be interesting to consider ethical issues related to the use of artificial intelligence.

Very interesting, informative live communication with positive emotional background throughout the course.

All topics of the meetings were popular and relevant.

I think if I smile in the end, then it was a good job!

Speaking club course has helped me to practice a lot with finding proper words for different topics and finding a way to explain something without turning back to the «easy» language.

It helped a lot to have a native speaker as a teacher. It was easy for me to understand what teacher (Richard Benson) was saying (I just hope I was clear for him too).

There were a lot of changing rooms, where you have to speak to many people, who have style, pronunciation, opinion, etc. that vary from yours.

Closer to the end of the course, I got more comfortable because I already knew other participants relatively well.

All the lessons were carefully prepared and covered interesting topics. All assignments were carried out in the course of active discussions in groups, which helps not only to practice English vocabulary but also develops communicative skills and the ability to express your thoughts.
