Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University has been accepted as an associate partner of the international consortium project ARISA (Artificial Intelligence Skills Alliance) of the Erasmus+ program of the European Union.

The ARISA project provides artificial intelligence (AI) knowledge and skills in Europe, helping people to understand and use AI technology in business and policy contexts. It focuses on current and emerging professional roles in four professional areas: business leaders, technology leaders, technology practitioners and policy makers. The project aims to create a strong and sustainable foundation to reduce skills shortages, gaps and mismatches. ARISA brings together the leading representative bodies of information and communication technologies, education and training providers, qualification regulatory bodies, as well as a wide range of stakeholders and social partners in the field.

The mission of the project: to accelerate the training and retraining of workers, job seekers, business leaders and politicians in professions related to artificial intelligence in order to open up new business opportunities for Europe.

Key values of the consortium:

  • innovative education (supporting employers and training providers to offer innovative formal and non-formal learning pathways, to gain the necessary, forward-looking skills important in AI-related occupations);
  • inclusion (ensuring that employees, job seekers, business leaders, and policy makers understand the fundamentals or technicalities of AI in order to manage, collaborate, or contribute to inclusive and human-centered AI solutions);
  • future orientation (creating strong partnerships between education, industry and policy actors to open the EU to new opportunities through AI-based solutions).

In Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University, the Department of Software Tools has formed a team of scientists with great potential in the field of AI: it includes two professors — Serhiy Subbotin and Andriy Oliynyk and three associate professors — Tetyana Zayko, Yevhen Hoffman, Serhiy Leoshchenko, graduate students and students who participate in research projects, actively introduce AI technologies in the educational process in the training of students IT specialties 121 «Software engineering» and 122 «Computer science».

Involvement of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University in the ARISA consortium demonstrates recognition of its achievements in the field of AI at the international level, expands opportunities for international cooperation, and allows influencing EU policies in the field of AI.
