«Night of science» at the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic
On September 25, the educational and scientific event «Night of Science» was held for the seventh year in a row at Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, designed to popularize science, the latest technologies, scientific and technical creativity, and science and mathematics (STEM) education.
This year’s «Night of Science» united schoolchildren, students, teachers and foreign partners of the university. The participants not only learned more about modern scientific developments, but also got to see science in action — they conducted their own experiments, tested scientific laws in practice, talked with specialists and got acquainted with new areas of study and research.
Pro-rector Andrii Ivanchenko addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech and wished them inspiration for research and confidence in their own abilities on the way to new knowledge and achievements.
During the «Night of Science-2026» we invited the participants to look into the future and find out what modern scientists are working on to make cities convenient, comfortable, safe and technological.
Each faculty prepared its own location with interesting tasks, experiments and tests to show a special city – the city of the future, in which each interactive location is responsible for an important component of its life. The participants tested how modern transport technologies work, explored the principles of operation of smart energy networks and Smart City, immersed themselves in the world of digital technologies and communication, tested their own physical abilities, took part in social and psychological quests, and also learned more about architecture, journalism, law and other areas.
Among the thematic locations were «Crash test of a building: Architectural resistance», «Factory city of the future», «HUMAN CODE 2050», «Modern transport technologies: reliability, speed, safety», «Electric heart of a smart city», «Management in a Smart City», «Communication: how the city transmits information», «Level Up station: Communication, Travel & Food», «City of the future: build and protect!», «METAL-MANIA», «Quest-laboratory of social sciences», «Truth or AI?», «City of the future: is it comfortable to live here?» and «Psychological detective: reveal the secret of emotions».
The Children’s Scientific Conference «My New Ukraine» took place within the «Night of Science» in online format. During September 21-24, young researchers worked in four sections — economic, humanitarian, technical and computer. Students of grades 7-11 and students of 1-2 years of colleges presented their own research in Ukrainian, English and German.
«Science Night-2026» turned the university space into a place of live acquaintance with science, where complex phenomena can not only be seen or heard, but also investigated with your own hands. Such experience helps to generate interest in research, technology and new knowledge, showing that science is a space for searching, experimenting and discovering.
