Training seminar on art therapy work with children «Art helps»

The Department of Psychology, together with master’s students, continues to participate in the projects of the Children’s Friends Charity Foundation.

On October 12 and 13, a training seminar-workshop on art therapy work with children in crisis categories was held in Kyiv for psychologists and volunteers who will be involved in the implementation of the third stage of the «Art helps» project from the Children’s Friends Foundation (pryyateliditey) with the sponsorship of the UCARE, Inc. Charity Organization. (UCAREInc).

The seminar brought together psychologists from Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Bila Tserkva and Shostka.

From Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic, our second-year master’s students of the OPP «Psychology» – Kateryna Filonenko and Sofiia Cherednychenko (group CH-113m) joined, who are once again actively participating in the foundation’s projects.

The seminar program was prepared and conducted by Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology Tetyana Borodulkina.

During the seminar, psychologists and project volunteers discussed the program and organizational issues, gained experience working with various art therapy techniques (aquatype, wool painting, stained glass fairy tale made of multi-colored tracing paper, loose mandala).

Soon, trained psychologists and volunteers will begin conducting art therapy classes with children in crisis categories and children from IDP families in the four mentioned cities. In Zaporizhzhia, our girls are preparing to conduct classes at the Municipal Institution «Zaporizhzhia Specialized Boarding School of II–III Degrees »Sichovy Collegium”, which is also our partner.
