The National Student Forum and the anniversary XX General Assembly, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Ukrainian Association of Students

From December 6 to 8 in Kyiv, the National Student Forum and the anniversary XX General Assembly of the Ukrainian Student Association (UAS) united young people from all corners of the country to sum up the results of 25 years of activity and determine the vector of student development for the future. Students of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic also joined the meeting.

UAS President Polina Gombalevska, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Oksen Lisovyi, Executive Director of the National Ukrainian Youth Association Olena Podobed-Frankivska, Chairman of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Education, Science and Innovations Serhii Babak, and Authorized Advisor to the President of Ukraine on the President of Ukraine Fund for Support of Education, Science and Sports Olha Budnyk opened the forum and welcomed the participants.

The leading topics of the forum are education & leadership: over three days, students took part in various discussions and interactive workshops.

We focused on the following questions:

• reform of student self-government, in particular, shared opinions on how students can become key players in reforming education
• student self-government and the educational environment: they talked about trends, challenges and ways to develop a culture of cooperation between young people, universities and the state
• synergy of education is an important dialogue about mutual understanding, cooperation and joint efforts for the development of quality education.

Participants took part in various workshops:

• learned how to create your project and are ready to take the first steps
• listened to a motivational speech, which reminded that true leadership begins with awareness of one’s uniqueness
• took part in a cultural panel about the history of the Shot Renaissance

Also, the forum discussed the topics of accessibility, adaptation of veterans, mental health support and involvement of students in the development of educational policy.

Students of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic are always ready to support the initiatives of UAS to support students. Together we form a generation of young leaders!
