National Contact Points of the Horizon Europe program: results of activities in 2024
On December 23, 2024, at the initiative of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, a meeting was held dedicated to summing up the activities of the National Contact Points (NCPs) of the Horizon Europe program. The event was an opportunity to present reports on the work done, discuss overcoming challenges, and further development steps in 2025.
The meeting was opened by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Denys Kurbatov, who noted the importance of the activities of the NCP network for the integration of Ukraine into the European Research Area. He emphasized that participation in the Horizon Europe program is a strategic priority for Ukraine, as it helps attract new participants to the program’s competitions and increases the competitiveness of Ukrainian science.
The scientific consultant of the European Union Delegation to Ukraine, Yegor Pivovarov, also joined the congratulations. He assured that support for Ukrainian scientists remains an important area of EU cooperation with Ukraine, and expressed readiness to continue to promote the participation of Ukrainian scientists in international research programs.
Director General of the Directorate for the Development of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Hryhoriy Mozolevych summarized the achievements of the NCP network for 2024 and outlined key areas of work for 2025, emphasizing the need to further improve the activities of contact points.
At the event, the head of the NCP «Research Infrastructures» of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University Dmytro Pavlenko presented a report on the activities of the NCP «Research Infrastructures» for 2024.
During the reporting period, the NCP implemented a number of important initiatives aimed at the development of Ukrainian science and supporting the participation of researchers in the Horizon Europe program. In particular, five large-scale information events were held, which covered representatives of the scientific community from different regions of Ukraine.
In addition, the NCP team provided 10 professional consultations on the preparation of applications for the program, helped in the search for international partners, and contributed to the high-quality development of projects.
Particular attention was paid to information work: on official platforms, including the university website, channels in Viber and Telegram messengers, as well as a YouTube channel, where more than 20 materials are posted. These publications highlighted opportunities for participation in the program and contributed to the dissemination of information among the scientific community of Ukraine.
One of the key achievements of the year was the development of a project proposal with the participation of two leading Ukrainian institutions.
