Awards ceremony for athletes of the Thai Boxing Club «Cross» and students of the shooting horting club «Hort»
On November 6, the educational hub of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University was crowded. The guests were students, parents, and the administration of our partner – the Extracurricular Education Institution «Kommunarsky District Center for Youth and Schoolchildren».
The meeting was held on the occasion of the successful performance of athletes of the Thai Boxing Club «Cross», which is part of the structure of the ZPO «KRTSMtaSh». The club’s students won 8 gold, 8 silver and 4 bronze medals at the World Championship in Combat Self-Defense ISO, which was held in Frankfurt am Main (Germany).
The attendees were greeted with welcoming words by the head of the Department of Extracurricular Education, Educational Work and National-Patriotic Education of the Department of Education and Science of the ZOR Tetyana Galchanska, vice-rector of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University Andriy Ivanchenko, director of the Kommunarsky District Center for Youth and Schoolchildren Mykhailo Khvastyk, head of the Zaporizhzhia City Organization of ATO Veterans Mykhailo Pyrih, dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports Management Svitlana Kokareva, head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports Management Vasyl Mazin.
The athletes received valuable prizes. Also awarded were the students of the shooting horting club «Hort», who were the first in Ukraine to pass the qualifying exams and receive sports ranks in this sport. The head of this club is the president of the National Shooting Horting Federation of Ukraine, a student of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University, Serhiy Yelin.
The cooperation of the Kommunarsky District Center for Youth and Schoolchildren with the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University is currently taking place in the following areas: STEM education, development of shooting horting, children’s journalism, and improvement of the training process of athletes. Trainers and teachers of the ZPO «KRTSMtaSh» are students of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University, and students of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports Management undergo practice in the sports sections of the center.
