Modular course «Data Journalism» at NU «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic»

Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University has become one of the first universities in the country to offer the course «Data Journalism». This year, our students will join the study of the basics of data journalism.

During the course «Data Journalism», future journalists will learn to create information and analytical materials based on data journalism: they will get acquainted with the regulatory framework, master the tools and methods of working with various sources and the basics of data visualization.

In order to qualitatively implement the discipline, on August 27-30, associate professors of the Department of Journalism of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University Nataliia Ostrovska and Halyna Volynets became participants in the Training of trainers for the course «Data Journalism», organized by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

Thanks to the intensive Training for trainers, the teachers deepened their knowledge of data journalism, received practical recommendations for teaching the course «Data Journalism» and expanded their network of professional contacts.

Training for trainers: intensive open data course «Data Journalism» was held at the initiative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and with the assistance of the project «Support to Digital Transformation», funded by USAID and UK Dev. Project implementation partner is the Office of Effective Regulation BRDO.
