Interuniversity network of data science training courses
As part of the international project of the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD Virtual Master Cooperation in Data Science (VIMaCs), a consortium of German and Ukrainian universities has created a network of integrated data science training portals. NU «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic» is represented in the project by the Department of Software Tools, which is a graduate of the specialties 121 Software Engineering and 122 Computer Science.
Students of the Department of Software Tools now have a free opportunity to access a number of English-language courses on data analysis, machine learning, data collection and processing, and cloud technologies developed by leading teachers and scientists from the consortium universities.
The Department of Software Tools of NU «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic» within the framework of the DAAD ViMaCs project has developed the course «Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics», where the authors of the course are the head of the Department of Software Tools, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Prof. S.O. Subbotin and Prof. of the Department of Software Tools, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Prof. G.V. Tabunshchyk presented relevant materials in the following composition: a video introduction to the course, presentations on the following topics: Python language for data analysis, computational intelligence for technical and biomedical diagnostics, data sampling for building intelligent models, hashing data transformations for dimensionality reduction in diagnostic and recognition tasks, quality indicators of models based on decision trees and decision tree forests, supervised machine learning in Python, as well as methodological recommendations for laboratory work and independent work, and tests on topics.
The creation and setup of a separate educational portal of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University of the Moodle-based interuniversity network was carried out with the participation of employees of the Department of Software: Associate Professor, Ph.D. T.I. Kaplienko, Lead Engineer R.O. Shloma. The assembly and setup of a separate server to support the portal was carried out by employees of the Department of Software (Associate Professor, Ph.D. S.Yu. Skrupsky, Head of Lab. M.O. Andreyev, Head of Lab. M.V. Kalinina) with the support of the Center for Innovation and Information Technology Support of the Educational Process (Head – A.E. Savchuk, Lead Engineer – O.A. Ermolenko). Significant support to the department in assembling and setting up the server was provided by the Freshcode company (A. Barmin, V. Garkusha). The server was promptly connected to the university’s power grids by the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University’s AGH (vice-rector M.V. Chechel). Organizational assistance in allocating premises for the new laboratory of the Software Department, where the server is located, and purchasing equipment at the expense of the DAAD ViMaCs project was provided by the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University administration: ex-rector, Dr. of Engineering, Prof. S.B. Belikov, acting rector, vice-rector for NPR and VS, Ph.D., Prof. S.T. Yarimbash, first vice-rector, Dr. of Social Sciences, associate professor E.A. Gugnin, deputy chief accountant I.Yu. Vlasova.
Access to the courses of the Moodle interuniversity system is possible on working days (Monday-Friday) from 9-00 to 15-00 Kyiv time at the address: http://dee.zp.edu.ua/.
