International Winter School «Advanced Perspectives in Data Science»
The International Winter School «Advanced Perspectives in Data Science» was held as part of the Virtual Master Cooperation Data Science (ViMaCs) project. The project is funded by DAAD and aims to create a virtual training and laboratory infrastructure for digital learning and a portfolio of modules in the field of «Data Science».
The school’s topics covered a number of issues:
- process-driven approach to collecting and processing big data;
- big data tools;
- Python for data analysis;
- working with open data;
- model evaluation: key indicators;
- communication with customers.
As part of the winter school, Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic teachers gave lectures to international groups of students:
- Professor of the Department of Software Tools Galyna Tabunshchyk with a lecture on the topic: «Python for Data Analysis»;
- Associate Professor of the Department of Information Technologies of Electronic Means Nataliia Mironova with lectures on the topic: «Introduction to Big Data Tools» and «Introduction to Cloud Big Data Tools».
Student participants of the Winter School from Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic (Daryna Moshinets (KNT-511m), Olena Tereshchenko (KNT-211m), Snezhana Vychuzhanina (PhD student of the Department of Radio Engineering)) had the opportunity to apply their knowledge in the process of studying and working in international teams. In addition, all participants had the opportunity to visit the international student exhibition «Marketplace of Opportunities» and discover the international diversity at FH Dortmund.
Students and teachers of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University have been participating in the winter and summer schools of the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts for 6 years now and we hope for further development of cooperation.
