Round table «Conceptual principles for implementing the project of introducing specialized education in institutions of Zaporizhzhia together with Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic»

On August 25, a meeting with directors of secondary education institutions in Zaporizhzhia was held at the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University. Vice-Rector Andriy Ivanchenko welcomed the participants, emphasizing the importance of creating conditions for the comprehensive development of youth and the formation of interest in education and engineering education. Acting Director of the Department of Education and Science of the City Council Vitalii Lysenko also delivered a welcoming speech.

The purpose of the event is to summarize the results of the past academic year, present the calendar of educational, scientific and career guidance events for schoolchildren, and also present new projects of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University.

The calendar of events was presented by the director of the Educational, Scientific and Production Center «Zaporizhzhia Regional Center of Polytechnic Education» Tetyana Solovyova. During the year, students in grades 6–11 can expect:
? educational and scientific events
? career guidance programs
? intellectual and sports competitions
? contests and festivals

Many projects have become the hallmark of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic: Science Night, Career Forum, STEM project «Smart Home», Science Week and Holidays with Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic. During the meeting, new educational initiatives aimed at developing the intellectual and creative potential of students, forming scientific and research skills and interest in scientific activities while still in school were presented.

Special attention was paid to the Children’s and Youth Scientific University «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic», whose activities were presented by the director Olena Nazarova. Here, schoolchildren can choose clubs in the following areas: engineering, automation, mechanical engineering, IT technologies, humanitarian and social spheres.

At the end of the meeting, Vice-Rector Andriy Ivanchenko presented certificates of gratitude to 80 teaching staff of schools for their active participation in the events and fruitful cooperation.
