Round table «Effectiveness of psychosocial support and ways of its implementation»
On June 21, the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University hosted a round table «Effectiveness of psychosocial support and ways of its implementation», initiated by representatives of the educational department and the psychological service of the university.
The purpose of the event was to develop effective mechanisms for implementing social projects on psychological support for different segments of the population. The meeting was attended by representatives of more than 20 Ukrainian and international charitable foundations and public organizations, as well as higher education institutions, on the basis of which rehabilitation centers and psychological assistance centers have already been opened.
The rector of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University Viktor Greshta delivered a welcoming speech, thanking for the great work, thanks to which thousands of people have been able to survive difficult periods of their lives since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. He emphasized the need to form a system of interaction between charitable organizations and universities in order to jointly confront the challenges of today and meet the needs for psychosocial support of both the civilian population and military personnel and war veterans.
Vice-Rector Andriy Ivanchenko presented the university and its areas of activity, and the team of the university’s psychological service spoke about the initiatives of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic in the field of mental health protection.
The participants discussed important issues:
- ways of implementing psychosocial support in a higher education institution
- challenges for the activities of psychological services and mental health projects in the Zaporizhzhia region
- work of the psychological service: problems and prospects in a higher education institution
- interaction of psychological services, charitable foundations and public organizations in the processes of psychosocial support
