Round table «Zaporizhzhia Bar: History and Modernity»
On February 6, a round table «Zaporizhzhia Bar: History and Modernity» was held at the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University. Within its framework, a museum-cabinet on the history of the Zaporizhzhia region’s bar was solemnly opened and the prospects for studying and preserving the historical memory of the Zaporizhzhia bar were discussed.
The round table and the opening of the museum were held with the support of the National Bar Association of Ukraine, the Center for Research on Advocacy and Law, the Council of Bars of Zaporizhzhia Region, the law firm «Maistro and Bezhenar» and the law office of Vadym Lavrivsky. The participants of the event were welcomed by the rector of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University Viktor Greshta, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Council Olena Zhuk, as well as legal experts from various fields.
During the discussion, research on the history of the general and regional bar of Ukraine and bar biographies, popularization of knowledge about the Institute of the Bar of Ukraine, restoration and commemoration of its famous figures, the role of lawyers in the national revival and state building of Ukraine, as well as the study and preservation of information about modern representatives of the bar – defenders of Ukrainian statehood in the Russian-Ukrainian war, were discussed.
