Call for applications – International Research Fellowship Program in Regensburg for 2025
Within the framework of the project «Denkraum Ukraine / Think Space Ukraine» (DU), funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
The Center for Interdisciplinary Ukrainian Studies «Think Space Ukraine», founded in 2024 at the University of Regensburg (UR). It conducts discursive, relational and action-oriented development of Ukraine-related research in the fields of culture, economics, politics and law in (trans)regional and global contexts.
Thematic areas are based on the current research experience of UR faculty and the Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS).
These areas:
- Language and Cultural Heritage
- War, Peace and the Post-War Structure of Ukraine
- Flight, Migration and the Transmission of Values
- Regional Diversity in Ukraine: Industrial and Border Regions in Comparison.
Think Space Ukraine intends to further develop established contacts in the field of learning, exchange and knowledge transfer into an internationally visible center of knowledge and communications.
We are pleased to announce the call for applications for our international research fellowship program 2025!
We offer:
- 4 short-term fellowships (1 month) for doctoral researchers (1,300 euros per month plus a one-off mobility allowance of up to 350 euros)
- 4 short-term fellowships (1 month) for established and senior researchers (2,150 euros per month plus a one-off mobility allowance of up to 350 euros)
- 2 long-term fellowships (6 months), one for a PhD (1,300 euros per month plus a one-off mobility allowance of up to 350 euros) and one for a doctoral student (2,000 euros per month plus a one-off mobility allowance of up to 350 euros)
- up to 25 Sur-Place fellowships (1 month) for researchers who remain in Ukraine and cannot leave the country due to travel restrictions caused by the current state of war or for personal reasons such as family obligations (450 euros per month)
The fellows will be able to use the Regensburg library resources, consult with colleagues and attend lectures and seminars.
Application: send your application in one PDF file by email to sekretariat.du@ur.de, indicating the selected scholarship in the subject line: «Application for short-term/long-term/Sur-Place fellowship 2025».
The PDF file must contain:
- a brief description of your research work, related to the above-mentioned fields of research, in German or English (maximum three pages)
- a detailed academic biography (CV), including two references
- a list of publications with a selection of up to five of the most relevant publications
- a statement of the desired start date of the stay (usually between February and November)
The deadline for applications is December 31, 2024.
Applications containing more than one file or submitted after the deadline will not be considered. All application materials will be deleted after six months.
