Competition for Ukrainian municipalities to join the EU mission «Climate-neutral and smart cities»
The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation has announced the opening of a competition for Ukrainian municipalities to join the EU mission «Climate-neutral and smart cities». The competition was announced as part of the Sustainable Urban Net Zero Network for Ukraine (SUN4Ukraine) initiative, which is implemented under the EU’s Horizon Europe program.
The goal is to align Ukraine’s recovery plans with ambitious climate neutrality goals.
The SUN4Ukraine initiative began its four-year activity in May 2024 and is coordinated by the Eurocities association of European cities. The initiative is funded as a coordination and supporting action within the framework of the competition HORIZON-MISS-2023-CIT-02-01 «Joining Ukrainian cities in the Climate Neutral and Smart Cities Mission».
SUN4Ukraine will support Ukrainian cities in their pursuit of climate neutrality by cooperating with the subsidiary project «Ukraine on the Path to Carbon Neutrality» (U_CAN), which is funded within the same competition and coordinated by the Technical University of Dresden.
If you are interested in participating in the SUN4Ukraine initiative, please fill out the online questionnaire by October 20, 2024: https://bit.ly/3BFoGtk
