«NRW-Ukraine Konferenz» conference

On November 18, a large-scale conference «NRW-Ukraine Konferenz» was held in the city of Cologne, Germany, dedicated to the strengthening and development of cooperation between the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and Ukraine.

Zaporizka Polytechnic National University took an active part in the event, which brought together representatives of science, education, business and public administration from both countries. With the support and at the invitation of the government of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, the university was represented by the vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work and issues of perspective development Ruslan Kulikovsky.

The conference program covered a wide range of issues: from the restoration of infrastructure and sustainable development to the possibilities of international financing of scientific and research projects. In particular, within the section «International financing opportunities in the field of science and research», the prospects of cooperation between universities of Ukraine and Germany, the attraction of EU grants and the development of innovative educational initiatives were discussed.

Participants of the event had the opportunity to establish cooperation with partners, in particular, with representatives of DAAD, ZENIT GmbH and research institutions of Germany. Both scientific and practical aspects of the participation of Ukrainian higher education institutions in international programs were discussed, which will contribute to the integration of Ukrainian science into the European research space.

The participation of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic in the conference was an important step in the direction of the development of the European digital innovation hub ZP EDIH, the coordinator of which is our university. New contacts and learning during the conference will contribute to the introduction of innovations, attracting resources and increasing the efficiency of project implementation within the framework of Industry 4.0 initiatives.

Participation of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University in the forum is an important step towards expanding international cooperation and attracting investments for the development of educational and innovative infrastructure. Such initiatives strengthen the university’s capabilities in fulfilling strategic goals, in particular in the field of innovative education, research and digitalization.
