History that shapes legal culture: a study of the history of the Zaporizhzhia region’s bar is presented
On the occasion of Lawyer’s Day, a large-scale event dedicated to the history of the Zaporizhzhia region’s bar was held at the Faculty of Law of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University. The central event was the presentation of a new book by Dmytro Maistr, Vadym Lavrivskyi, and Valeriy Stoychev, «Zaporizhzhia Bar: Essays on History, Facts, and Personalities.»
Pro-rector Andriy Ivanchenko, Chairman of the Council of Advocates of Zaporizhzhia Region Maksym Semenov, Dean of the Faculty of Law Yurii Filey and Director of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Museum of Local Lore Viktoriya Vodopyan addressed the participants with welcoming words. Representatives of the State Archives of Zaporizhzhia Region and representative of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Liudmyla Grabchylyeva also participated in the event. The wide representation of the legal, scientific, educational and cultural communities emphasized the significance of researching the history of the bar of Zaporizhzhia Region and the importance of inter-institutional cooperation to preserve historical memory.
The event brought together a wide professional and scientific community – lawyers, scientists, students, historians, archivists and representatives of state authorities, which testifies to the importance of preserving the historical memory of the development of the legal profession in Zaporizhzhia. Such research is not only the restoration of historical facts, but also a significant contribution to the preservation of professional heritage, the development of legal science and the formation of the legal culture of future generations.
It is especially pleasing that this thorough work was prepared within the framework of the scientific and practical laboratory of advocacy at the Faculty of Law of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University.
