Information event «Integration of Ukraine into European research initiatives: National Contact Point and University research infrastructure as opening new opportunities within the framework of the “Horizon Europe” program»

On October 10, an information event «Integration of Ukraine into European research initiatives: National Contact Point and University research infrastructure as opening new opportunities within the framework of the »Horizon Europe« program» was held at the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University.

The participants were welcomed by Olha Polotska, Executive Director of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine. She called for a dialogue with scientists from business and public organizations and thanked the researchers for their socially important practice.

Viktor Greshta, rector of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, delivered a welcoming speech and also presented our university as a research center for the development of scientific projects of the national level. Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic has significant research experience, which the rector presented: development of materials with a gradient nanostructure for load-bearing structures of increased reliability and human safety in special conditions; development of practical recommendations for expanding the application of additive manufacturing technologies; intelligent methods and means of information processing for decision-making in industry. He also spoke about the total volume of business contracts, available modern equipment, research laboratories, special projects related to energy security, energy efficiency and cybersecurity.

The algorithm for participating in the Horizon Europe program, individual consultations from Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic specialists and future events from the NCP were told by the head of the NCP, Dmytro Pavlenko, and the NCP specialist, Darya Tkach.

Vice-Rector Andriy Ivanchenko focused his report on innovations developed by Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic. The Energy Innovation Hub, the Science Park, the European Digital Innovation Hub, the Regional Innovation Hub, cooperation with the Zaporizhzhia EAM Cluster and the Zaporizhzhia Chamber of Commerce and Industry were the leading topics of the Vice-Rector’s speech. He also spoke about the powerful resources of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic: a developed research infrastructure, specialized licensed software and modern server equipment.

The event was also addressed by the head of the department «Office Horizon Europe in Ukraine» Ihor Taranov and the chief specialist of the department «Office Horizon Europe in Ukraine» of the NFDU Nadiya Naumova.
