On May 29, an informational meeting with the regional coordinator of the All-Ukrainian mental health program «How are you?» Serhiy Druzhynin was held at the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, which was attended by representatives of various faculties, the teaching staff of the Department of Psychology, and practical psychologists of colleges.
The conversation was started by Vice-Rector Andriy Ivanchenko, emphasizing the importance of improving the mental resilience of teachers, staff, and students of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic.
During the meeting, Serhiy spoke in detail about the reasons and strategies for overcoming the stigmatization of addressing psychologists, as well as ignoring existing mental health problems. He also drew attention to programs for the reintegration of veterans into society and the role of higher education institutions in this process.
A practical psychologist who will work with various requests from students and university staff, Mykola Novotarsky, was introduced. He spoke about plans for the development of the mental health office at Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University: interaction with other departments, future cooperation with international organizations, conducting trainings, psychoeducational lectures and master classes for all interested parties.
The participants of the meeting received answers to questions about participation in regional support programs, burnout prevention, material support for hubs, and development of educational programs for students.
