The first stage of the XXV International Ukrainian Language Competition named after Petro Yatsyk
On October 29, the I, intra-university, stage XXV of the Petro Yatsyk International Ukrainian Language Competition has traditionally started at Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University. This competition was organized and conducted by the Department of Ukrainian Studies and General Language Training of the Faculty of Humanities.
The Petro Yatsyk International Ukrainian Language Contest always starts every year on November 27, the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language, and aims to confirm the state status of the Ukrainian language, raise its prestige among young people, and foster respect for the traditions of the Ukrainian people.
This year, the opening of the competition at Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University took place in a remote format. Student youth from various faculties of the university took part in the competition. Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Studies and General Language Training Tetyana Katysh explained all the organizational points to the participants. The tasks were aimed at testing the participants’ knowledge of lexicology, morphology, syntax, and spelling norms.
Based on the results of the evaluation of student works, the jury (Associate Professor Tetyana Bilenko, Associate Professor Tetyana Katysh, Senior Lecturer Lina Myronyuk) will determine the winners among the students of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University faculties, who will soon be able to participate in the next, regional stage of the competition.
