The group «Young Legal Scientist»: we begin to study rights, duties and laws
On February 21, students of the Zaporizhzhia Academic Lyceum No. 23 started their studies in the «Young Legalist» group of the Children’s and Youth Scientific University «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic».
Schoolchildren were invited to the class together with their parents, class teachers and Lyceum Director Volodymyr Mayorov.
The first meeting began with welcoming words from the director of the Children’s and Youth Scientific University, Olena Nazarova, and the dean of the Faculty of Law, Yurii Filei, who spoke about the specialties and features of admission to the educational programs of the Faculty of Law, highlighted the specifics of the group’s activities, and invited them to Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic events.
In order to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of legal education, the group classes will be held at the Museum of Advocacy of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University.
The head of the circle, Olha Shiyan, has prepared interesting master classes, interactive tasks, role-playing games and quests, thanks to which schoolchildren will master the following legal areas:
- issues of human rights protection
- intellectual property
- family law
- political science
Not only students, but also their parents took an active part in the first lesson. Together, they happily tried to apply legal approaches to the heroes of the fairy tale «The Goat and Seven Kids».
During the class, the children tried themselves as human rights defenders: they determined which basic rights of fairy-tale heroes were violated and how they should be protected. And they also felt like real detectives during the investigation of the traces left by the criminal at the scene of the crime.
