Festival «Dreams come true at the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic»
On May 30, for students of grades 5–11, the educational and entertainment festival «Dreams Come True at the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic» from the Children’s and Youth Scientific University took place for the third time.
The event was opened by the rector Viktor Greshta and the director of DYNU Olena Nazarova, who congratulated the students on the end of the academic year and wished them a bright vacation, the beginning of which was the Festival!
The entertainment program was put together by our partners:
– bright vocal performances by pupils of the Center for Children and Youth Creativity of the Shevchenkiv District
– a choreographic number by a 12-year-old pupil Margarita Maistrenko, a performance by the pop dance group «Exclusive» and a location for the production of the Motana doll of the House of Children and Youth Creativity of the Factory District
– interactive zones «Avia-drive: create and launch!»: making gliders from foam plastic and the game «Code of Zaporizhzhia» Station of young technicians
– activities with special equipment at the location of the tourist destination «Tourist Rainbow» from the Komunarsky District Center for Youth and Schoolchildren
– interactive locations: STEM lottery and «Creative HUB» – a master class on making wire products from Zaporizhzhia Regional Center for Scientific and Technical Creativity of Student Youth «Grania» and the Small Academy of Science for Student Youth «Science-Hub»
– The Center for Scientific and Technical Creativity of Youth «Polit» interested the participants in subsoccer – a non-standard sitting football, as well as a location with intellectual games
– The child-friendly space «Charitable Fund »Caritas Zaporizhzhia«» created a festive atmosphere with bright games «Djanga» and «Labyrinth on hangers»
– Zaporizhzhia humanitarian professional college held a foreign language quiz and a practical game «What to put in a tourist suitcase», and as a reward for completed tasks treated the children with goodies
– Zaporizhzhia professional college of hotel and restaurant business impressed the festival guests with delicious pancakes of various colors and shapes, decorated toppings
Faculties of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic welcomed schoolchildren with interesting interactive activities:
– the electrical engineering faculty introduced the possibilities of mechatronics, automation, and programming at the «Do it with Micro:bit» and «LEGO Robo-cars» locations
– the mechanical engineering faculty demonstrated 3D scanning, 3D modeling, and 3D printing technologies to the participants at the locations «TechnoFest»
– the Faculty of Engineering and Physics held a popular game «Norm or Stream» with fascinating riddles about metals and their properties
– the Faculty of Transport prepared a demonstration location «Living Engines: from Stirling to Hybrid»
– the Faculty of Computer Science and Technology engaged participants in quizzes related to modern technologies and the use of AI
– the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Design offered the location «City of my dreams», where schoolchildren fantasized by creating a map of the future city
– the Faculty of Law prepared an interactive location «Detective Adventures», where our guests felt like real detectives and human rights defenders, and also learned about their rights and responsibilities
– the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports Management held darts competitions and fun relays
– Faculty of Humanities treated the festival guests to cocktails and various waffles
The educational and scientific experiment center «Quantum» of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic organized simple experiments that demonstrated how the laws of physics work in everyday life.
At all locations, the children received a special currency – «Dune», banknotes of the Children’s and Youth Scientific University «Zaporizka Polytechnic», which could be used to buy gifts in the souvenir shop.
The charity foundation «Generation of the Future» treated the Festival guests with cotton candy, and the «Edyna dovishta voda» company provided water. The United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF, the online store of exclusive gifts and souvenirs «ORNER», ATKB «PrivatBank», the chain of supermarkets «Silpo» and the company «Cossack Farm» have prepared many prizes and gifts for the participants.
