Energy efficiency of student dormitory buildings of NU «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic»

The Volunteer Headquarters of NU «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic» together with the employees of the student campus in 2023 began working with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), which, within the framework of cooperation with the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military-Civil Administration, allocated funds as humanitarian aid for the purchase and installation of:

• Dormitory No. 2 – energy-saving double-glazed windows for 18 windows and 4 entrance doors to the dormitory;

• Dormitory No. 3 – 24 modern energy-saving windows and two entrance doors to the dormitory with false frames, and two entrance doors to the leisure rooms were also replaced;

• Dormitory No. 4 – 31 windows in the stairwells;

• Dormitory No. 5 – 19 energy-saving metal-plastic windows and 20 double-glazed balcony doors;

• Dormitory ZFKKT – energy-saving double-glazed windows for 4 windows and 10 double-glazed balcony doors.

Thanks to this cooperation, 130 units of energy-saving windows and doors were installed in the student dormitories of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, where today people who were forced to evacuate from temporarily occupied territories and zones of active hostilities live together with students.

Insulation of dormitories is especially relevant in conditions of frequent power outages and emergency power outages. Thanks to this, our residents, including a large number of children, have become warmer and more comfortable.
