Research at the Polish Academy of Sciences – Lane Kirkland Fellowship Program
The Leaders for Change Foundation announces a competition for the Lane Kirkland Fellowship in the academic year 2021/2022.
The fellowship provides an opportunity to undertake a research internship in Poland, including in institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Two types of fellowships are offered:
- Kirkland Fellowship – is a 9-month fellowship for experts with at least 2 years of professional experience;
- Kirkland Research – This is a 4-month fellowship for researchers with a monthly stipend of approximately 1,450.00 euros.
Applications can be submitted until March 1, 2021.

Briefly about Kirkland Research
– Kirkland Research fellows are not required to participate in seminars and classes.
– Fellows are engaged in independent scientific work under the guidance of an academic teacher.
– Research objective – preparation of a scientific article. The basis for obtaining a diploma of completion of the Program is the scholar’s article approved for publication by the scientific supervisor and the presentation of the results of the work at the scholar’s congress in Warsaw.
– The total amount of the monthly scholarship is approximately PLN 6,500.00 (approximately EUR 1,450.00).

- Business, NGO, cultural, educational and health management
- Public administration (central and local levels)
- Law
- Social sciences (social psychology, sociology)
- Political Science and International Relations
- Environmental and Climate Protection
- Security and Cybersecurity Issues
- Crisis Management
- Development Policy and Humanitarian Aid

Formal criteria
- citizenship and residence in one of the countries covered by the Kirkland Research Program: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan;
- age up to 45 years;
- experience in scientific work – at least 4 years;
- not less than 2 years of break from the previous foreign scholarship, the period of receipt of which exceeded 6 months;
- scientific achievements, including publications;
- knowledge of Polish or English at least B2 level (in the case of knowledge of English at B2 level, knowledge Polish language proficiency must be at least A1 level).
