Charity Fair «Together – We Are One»
Close friends and fellow educators from the Energodar community held an autumn fair on October 18 at the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic Institute on the basis of the Educational Hub. Our festive festivities were dedicated to the traditional fair on the Intercession and the Day of the Ukrainian Cossacks.
And to make the trade go better, Energodar schoolchildren entertained guests and buyers with small theatrical performances: folk songs, interesting riddles, funny jokes, as well as the mysterious prophecies of the molfarka.
“When we realized that the children, to put it mildly, did not really want to learn poetry, we suggested that they read rap. And now look: they put on baseball caps under their embroidered shirts and perform Ukrainian chants to the beat,» one of the organizing teachers commented on the newly created format of the performance.
Our shopkeepers were greeted by the rector of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University Viktor Greshta, the mayor of Energodar Dmytro Orlov, and the vice-rector Andriy Ivanchenko. They thanked the teachers for the resilience, development, and preservation of Ukrainian culture and, of course, congratulated the children on the holidays!
«I admire the resilience of the energy donors, far from home they organized a stunning holiday. Pastries, decorations, dances and songs, Ukrainian outfits. It’s been a long time since we celebrated Pokrova like this! This is a great example of the power of the Ukrainian spirit,» shared one of the fair’s guests.
In the second part of the fair, guests took part in creative master classes on making jewelry — earrings, flowery rims, necklaces and bracelets made of beads.
In total, more than 120 participants joined the celebrations. Together, we raised about 20,000 hryvnias to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
