Art therapy drawing event “Pictures of Affirmations”
On May 28, an art therapy event for the creation of «Pictures of Affirmation» was held by the Center for Helping Survivors of Zaporizhzhia, which was co-organized by the Department of Psychology. Speakers of the event: – Viktoriia Verteba – a psychologist at the Center for Helping Survivors, a graduate and stakeholder of the Department of Psychology of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University – Iryna Bahirko – a psychologist at the Center for Helping Survivors
With the help of psychological practices and creativity, the participants turned to their own resources, emotions and internal supports. The main idea of the event was the creation of a personal affirmation phrase and its visual image in a picture — a symbol of support, inner strength and a way to return to oneself in difficult moments of life. Special attention was paid not to the artistic result, but to the very process of creative self-expression, the opportunity to slow down, be in touch with yourself and allow yourself to express yourself without evaluation.
The event became a space of support, creativity and emotional recovery, where everyone was able to find their own way of taking care of themselves through art and psychological practice. Master’s and undergraduate students majoring in «Psychology» also took part.
