Meeting of students of Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University and James Edison University (Virginia, USA)

On March 30, another meeting of students of the Faculty of Humanities of the Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University and James Edison University (Virginia, USA) took place, dedicated to the role of English in the educational process in the context of globalization and integration.

The issues of the effectiveness of learning and using English as a language of international communication, and students’ adaptation to the English-speaking academic environment were discussed.

The meeting was also joined by British advisor David Wills, who spoke about the variability of the English language and the specifics of its teaching at different levels in the British education system. This gave the participants the opportunity to get acquainted with the peculiarities of its functioning in different countries and socio-cultural contexts, compare the education system in the UK and the USA, listen to and compare the British and American versions of English.

Our students shared their own experience of studying and using English at the university and beyond.
