In 1971, he defended his candidate’s thesis at the Academic Council of the Odessa Polytechnic Institute on the topic «Research of emergency modes of reversible thyristor converters for electric drives» in the specialty 05.03.03 – electrical equipment.
In 1990, he defended his doctoral dissertation at the Academic Council of the Institute of Electrodynamics of the ANURSR on the topic «Thyristor frequency converters with autonomous inverters for electric drives» in the specialty 05.09.12 – semiconductor power converters.
