The program is designed in accordance with the university’s development strategy and aims to train highly qualified competitive political scientists with high communication skills to form a socio-political cluster in the region and solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems in the political sphere in conditions of martial law and post-war reconstruction and development of the region and country

Teaching and learning involves the implementation of active learning methods that ensure a personally-oriented approach, the development of critical thinking and professional autonomy of higher education applicants.

The educational process is built on the principles of student-centered, problem-based learning and self-study using web technologies.

The study of academic disciplines involves: lectures, practical classes with discussion of the most relevant problems and solving situational tasks, self-study, consultations with scientific and pedagogical workers, individual and group forms. Classes are held with discussions that develop logical and critical thinking, business, communication and leadership skills, and the ability to work in a team in higher education applicants. Special attention is paid to writing course projects and preparing a qualification (bachelor’s) thesis, which is publicly presented and discussed with the participation of scientific and pedagogical workers of the department and higher education applicants. It is also planned to write scientific articles for publication in professional publications of Ukraine in political science, abstracts of reports for scientific and practical conferences within the framework of the department’s scientific and research work.

Independent work is carried out on the basis of textbooks, study guides, monographs, lecture courses, electronic educational resources, etc., placed in the repository of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University (https://eir.zp.edu.ua/home) and on the university-wide Moodle platform (https://moodle.zp.edu.ua).

Evaluation of academic achievements of higher education applicants is carried out in accordance with the «Regulations on the Organization of the Educational Process of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University (https://zp.edu.ua/uploads/dept_nm/Polozhennia_pro_orhanizatsiyu_osvitnoho_protsesu.pdf).

Control measures include: semester exams and tests, defense of course projects, defense practice report, public defense of the qualification (master’s) thesis.

Evaluation of academic achievements of higher education applicants is carried out: on a 100-point scale or a two-point scale (passed – not passed). Positive grades for all forms of control are grades from 60 to 100 points on a 100-point scale and a »passed« grade on a two-point scale.

The limit of unsatisfactory learning according to the results of the final control is a grade below 60 points on a 100-point scale or a »not passed” grade on a two-point scale.

Receiving a grade of 60 points and above implies receiving positive grades on all mandatory types of current control specified in the educational component curriculum.

The implementation of educational activities within the framework of the implementation of the educational and professional program is ensured by experienced scientific and pedagogical workers who have scientific degrees and academic titles, relevant experience in scientific and pedagogical activity, high professional level, confirmed by publication activity, have undergone advanced training and scientific and pedagogical internship in domestic and foreign higher education institutions in accordance with the Regulations on advanced training of pedagogical and scientific and pedagogical workers at the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University (https://zp.edu.ua//normativna-baza-navchalnogo-procesu), constantly participate in scientific and practical conferences both in Ukraine and abroad, etc.

Representatives of stakeholders, leading specialists from state authorities and local governments, as well as specialists from other higher education institutions are involved in conducting guest lectures.

Scientific and pedagogical workers who provide educational process under the educational and professional program, meet the requirements of the Licensing Conditions for the Implementation of Educational Activities, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated December 30, 2015 No. 1187.

The material and technical support of the program meets the current Licensing requirements for the provision of educational services in the field of higher education and allows you to organize and conduct classes in all academic disciplines at a high level.

.To implement educational activities under the educational and professional program, the Department of Political Science and General Legal Disciplines and other departments of the university that are involved in the educational process under this educational and professional program are provided with classrooms and computer classes with multimedia equipment, computer equipment with a service life of no more than eight years.

Higher education students have the opportunity to use sports halls and sports grounds, a stadium of sufficient size to fulfill the educational program and curricula, a scientific library with reading rooms and an electronic catalog, as well as an assembly hall and a catering point.

Higher education students who need it are provided with a dormitory.

The Scientific Library is the official scientific and informational unit of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, the library fund of which is provided with textbooks, teaching aids and other methodological publications, and subscriptions are made to the main professional periodicals of Ukraine.

The Scientific Library provides access to world information resources, in particular to Elsevier (SCOPUS) and Web of Science resources.

The certification of higher education applicants for the educational and professional program «Political Science» specialty C2 Political Science is carried out in the form of a public defense of a master’s qualification thesis.

The qualification thesis must involve the independent solution of a complex task or problem in the political sphere based on professional research and/or implementation of innovations.
