Formation of general and professional competencies for the successful implementation of professional activities in the field of recreation and tourism.

To make a significant contribution to the development of the Ukrainian state, society and the South-Eastern region of Ukraine by training competitive specialists for the field of tourism and hospitality, capable of ensuring the effective functioning, sustainable development of tourism and recreation companies in the conditions of digital transformation, European integration and post-war reconstruction of Ukraine through the implementation of such goals:

1. To form highly qualified, socially responsible and nationally conscious specialists in the field of tourism and recreation, capable of solving complex specialized tasks and practical problems in professional activities, applying modern technologies of management, organization of production, service, marketing and entrepreneurship, implementing innovative solutions, ensuring high quality of services and promoting the development of the tourism and hospitality industry of Ukraine in accordance with the principles of sustainable development.
2. To ensure the integration of education, science, business and innovation activities into the educational process, aimed at the formation of professional, digital, managerial, communicative and entrepreneurial competencies of applicants, the implementation of modern educational technologies, results of scientific research and best national and international practices of the tourism industry in accordance with standards and recommendations for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area.
3. Create conditions for comprehensive professional and personal development of higher education applicants by implementing the principles of student-centered learning, forming individual educational trajectories, developing academic mobility, practice-oriented training, international cooperation, leadership qualities, intercultural communication, and readiness for lifelong learning.

4. Promote the training of specialists capable of actively participating in the restoration and development of the Ukrainian economy, the modernization of tourism and recreation enterprises, the implementation of digital services, innovative service models, inclusive approaches, and modern standards of quality, safety, and customer orientation in accordance with European requirements and global sustainable development goals.

Teaching and learning are based on the implementation of active methods that ensure a personally oriented approach, the development of critical thinking and professional autonomy of applicants. The educational process is built on the principles of student-centered, problem-oriented and interactive learning with extensive use of web technologies and self-study. The study of disciplines involves lectures, practical and laboratory classes, work in small groups, which forms horizontal connections between applicants, preparation and presentation of educational and research projects, participation in debates and professional discussions. Considerable attention is paid to individual work under the guidance of teachers in preparation for conferences, completion of a course project and bachelor’s qualification work, presentation of the results obtained at conferences. Applicants are involved in independent research using the university’s resource base (library, computer classes), as well as the potential of partner institutions.

Education quality control involves control measures and analytical work to analyze their results. The applicant’s learning outcomes are assessed using control measures provided for by the educational program and programs of educational components on a 100-point scale or on a two-point scale (passed – not passed). The share of mandatory educational components that provide for a final assessment on a 100-point scale must be at least 70% of the total number of educational components.

Control measures include final control, and may also include input, current, intermediate and other forms of control, if they are determined by the programs of educational components. Forms of control measures, criteria, methods and assessment tools must correspond to the learning objectives and expected learning outcomes of each educational component.

The implementation of educational activities within the framework of the implementation of the educational program is provided by scientific and pedagogical workers necessary for the implementation of educational components, in accordance with the current Licensing Conditions for the implementation of educational activities. 95% of pedagogical workers with scientific degrees and academic titles are involved in the implementation of the program.

The educational, household, and sports facilities where classes are held comply with sanitary norms and rules, state building standards of Ukraine. Available: educational premises, computer classes, specialized laboratories, a library, reading rooms, wireless Internet access points, a sports complex, dormitories, dining rooms, sanatoriums, recreation centers, etc. In particular, a computer class of the Department of «Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business»; a training laboratory of «Hotel and Restaurant Business».

Within the framework of the EU Erasmus+ program on the basis of bilateral agreements between the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University and higher education institutions of partner countries.

The university has the right to train foreign students. The training of foreign applicants for higher education is regulated by the current Regulations on the organization of recruitment and training (internship) of foreigners and stateless persons at the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University.

The certification of applicants is carried out in the form of a certification exam and public defense of the qualification work. The certification exam should include verification of the achievement of learning outcomes specified by the Standard and the educational program.

The qualification work should include theoretical and analytical generalizations or solving a practical problem in the field of tourism and recreation using theories and methods of tourism studies and is characterized by complexity and uncertainty of conditions. The qualification work must undergo independent expert evaluation (review) by scientists and specialists in the field of tourism. The qualification work should not contain academic plagiarism, fabrication, falsification (checking the work for text borrowings / plagiarism). The qualification work must be published in the repository of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University. The publication of qualification works containing information with restricted access is carried out in accordance with the requirements of current legislation.
