Object of activity:
a set of technologies, means, methods and techniques for processing, storing and exchanging information at a distance and using electromagnetic vibrations and waves, in particular in radar and radio navigation, as well as software and hardware for their implementation, configuration and integration for monitoring and controlling machines, mechanisms and technological processes in electronic, medical equipment, measuring devices and systems

Theoretical content:
– theory, models and principles of functioning of telecommunication and radio engineering systems, with an emphasis on digital, software-controlled methods of signal formation, transmission and processing;
– principles of construction and functioning of software-defined radio systems, digital signal processing from the antenna path to acoustic systems, digital receiving and transmitting paths, as well as systems based on programmable modern radio frequency chip sets;
– principles, methods and means of ensuring specified operational characteristics and properties telecommunication and radio engineering systems, taking into account software configuration and adaptation;
– embedded systems architectures, digital interfaces and data exchange protocols in modern radio electronic equipment;
– the regulatory framework of Ukraine and the requirements of international standards in the field of telecommunications and radio engineering;
– modern software and hardware of radio engineering and telecommunications systems and networks, including low-level programming and hardware platform configuration tools. -
Methods and technologies:
methods of mathematical and computer modeling of radio engineering systems; methods of digital signal processing; software-defined radio technologies; methods of development and debugging of embedded and hardware and software systems; information and communication technologies of telecommunications and radio engineering.

– systems for development, modeling, debugging, monitoring and control of processes in telecommunications and radio engineering systems, including environments for developing embedded software;
– hardware platforms for organizing radio channels, digital transceiver modules, microcontrollers, signal processors and FPGAs with their programming tools;
– modern software and hardware for telecommunications and radio engineering technologies, including tools for working with digital interfaces and peripherals
The educational program is focused on students acquiring professional knowledge, skills, abilities and other competencies for the successful implementation of professional activities.
The program is aimed at mastering fundamental and practical knowledge in the field of telecommunications and radio engineering with with an emphasis on the software and hardware aspects of building modern radio electronic systems, including digital radio communications, radar and radio navigation, as well as methods of their implementation based on embedded and software-defined platforms
Teaching and Assessment
Lectures, presentations, methods of video presentations in combination with the latest information technologies and computer learning tools (use of multimedia tools), laboratory work, practical classes, performance of coursework (projects), interviews and consultations with teachers, work with educational and methodological literature (note-taking, drawing up reports), independent work of students using study guides and lecture notes (solving tasks, answering questions), internship at specialized enterprises, preparation of qualification work.
Assessment of applicants based on the results of control measures, the list of which is determined by the current Regulations on the Organization of the Educational Process of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University, namely in the form of: tests, differentiated tests, exams, rector’s control tests, defense of practice reports and coursework, as well as state certification. Evaluation of educational achievements of students of higher education is carried out: on a 100-point scale or on a two-point scale (credited – not credited). Positive scores for all forms of control are scores from 60 to 100 points on a 100-point scale and a score of «credited» on a two-point scale. The limit of unsatisfactory learning according to the results of the final control is a score below 60 points on a 100-point scale or a score of «failed» on a two-point scale. Obtaining a grade of 60 points and above implies obtaining positive grades for all mandatory types of ongoing control determined by the curriculum of the educational component.
Attestation of applicants for higher education in the form of public defense of the qualification work is carried out in accordance with the current Regulation on the procedure for the creation and organization of the work of the examination commission for attestation of applicants for higher education at Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University.
Resource Provision
The implementation of the educational and professional program is provided by highly qualified scientific and pedagogical workers who are professionally engaged in pedagogical activities in combination with scientific work. More than 70% of them have scientific degrees.
According to the Regulations on the Improvement of the Qualifications of Scientific and Pedagogical Employees at Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University, scientific and pedagogical employees of the department regularly undergo internships at Ukrainian and foreign universities.
Scientific and pedagogical workers providing the educational process at the OP «Engineering and programming in radio electronics» have extensive experience in scientific research, educational and methodological work, more than ten years of scientific and pedagogical activity and a level of professional activity that corresponds to the licensing conditions for conducting educational activities.
Practical specialists in the field of radio engineering are involved in the teaching of individual educational components.
According to the technological requirements for material and technical support of educational activities of the corresponding level of HE, according to the License Terms in the current version. The general infrastructure of the university includes educational buildings with specialized and subject classrooms, buffets, a physical culture and wellness complex, and dormitories.
To implement the educational program, the Department of Radio Engineering and Telecommunications has five specialized laboratories and a computer classroom.
Educational laboratories assigned to the «Radio Engineering and Telecommunications» department are intended for conducting laboratory work, practical classes and independent work of students in the taught disciplines, as well as for the completion of course and diploma works by students, preparation of scientific reports, articles and abstracts. All computer equipment is connected to the Internet, and wireless access to this network is also provided.
For general education disciplines, lecture halls and laboratories of the corresponding general-supporting departments, which have the necessary equipment, are used.
The main source of information support for teachers and students is the library with its funds and electronic means of storing and accessing information. Today, the scientific library of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University has all the means for finding and presenting scientific information and providing access to it: electronic catalog (EC), electronic library (EB), technological complexes that provide access to global information resources, in particular to Elsevier resources (SCOPUS), Web of Science: https://zp.edu.ua/naukova-biblioteka/.
The Institutional Repository is an extremely valuable electronic resource of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University Library. It was created to accumulate, systematize and store intellectual products of the university community in electronic form, provide open access to them by means of Internet technologies, and distribute these materials in the environment of the world scientific and educational society.
Programs of educational disciplines and syllabi developed by the department were reviewed, approved and approved by the scientific and methodical commission. Each program and syllabus contains an oriented thematic plan, a list of topics for laboratory or practical classes and independent work of students, as well as a procedure for monitoring and evaluating knowledge (current, modular, final) and a list of information sources, including and electronic.
Methodical materials for all disciplines are formed taking into account world experience, are regularly updated in accordance with the needs of the educational program and modern trends in the development of the field, and use the department’s own developments (teaching manuals published by Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University, methodical recommendations, etc.). Access to educational and methodical materials is provided through the university distance learning system, university electronic library, university repository.
Promptly informing applicants, employees and all interested persons about the activities of the university and the department, the schedule of classes, educational and scientific events is carried out through the websites of the university and the department, as well as through the automated educational management system process.

Academic Mobility
Regulated by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 579 «On Approval of the Regulation on the Procedure for the Implementation of the Right to Academic Mobility» dated 12.08.2015 and Regulation on the Procedure for the Implementation of the Right to Academic Mobility of Participants in the Educational Process at the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, as well as on the basis of bilateral agreements between the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University and domestic higher education institutions, including the National Technical University of Ukraine «Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute», Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, National Technical University «Dnipro Polytechnic», National University «Lviv Polytechnic», National University «Odessa Polytechnic» and others.
International credit mobility is regulated by Regulations on the procedure for exercising the right to academic mobility of participants in the educational process of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, as well as agreements on international credit mobility of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University.
Students have the opportunity to participate in the international credit program Erasmus+KAL, programs of the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD. The university has inter-institutional agreements, according to which students studying in the relevant specialty have the opportunity to exercise their rights to academic mobility in the following universities: Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium), Technical University of Ilmenau (Germany), Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain).

The certification of higher education applicants under the OP «Engineering and programming in radio electronics» specialty 172 «Telecommunications and radio engineering» is carried out in the form of a public defense of a qualification work (project)
Qualification work (project) should involve solving a complex specialized problem or a practical one
problems in the field of telecommunications and radio engineering and is characterized by the complexity and uncertainty of conditions.
The qualification work must be completed independently by the student of higher education.
The content and scope of the qualification work must demonstrate the acquired level of competence of the applicants.
The bachelor’s qualification work is subject to a mandatory check for academic plagiarism, and must not contain any fabrications or falsifications.
