Modern industry, transport, energy and aviation are impossible without electric drives and automated control systems. They ensure the accuracy, efficiency and reliability of equipment operation – from robotic production lines to electric vehicles.
The program combines fundamental physical and mathematical and general professional training with modern competencies: programming, electronics and microprocessor technology, computer modeling and design of electromechanical and electrical systems. Students master the development of automation and control systems using SCADA systems and programmable logic controllers, the creation of electromechanical devices based on microcontrollers, and the development of software from the system to the application level. Specialized computer laboratories are equipped with modern comprehensive stands Industrial Automation Siemens, Schneider Electric, Festo, Pilz, etc., which allows students to work with equipment used in real production.
During their studies, students work on real projects of customers, participate in all-Ukrainian and international conferences and competitions, and are involved in scientific research together with teachers and industrial partners. Active students with high performance have the opportunity to undergo internships abroad.
Career prospects: Modern enterprises are interested in highly qualified engineers who can immediately start working without additional training. Therefore, students have the opportunity to undergo practice and internships with the prospect of further employment.
Typical positions: Electrical engineer – designing electrical networks, distribution systems and electrical installations of industrial enterprises, residential and office complexes. Electric drive engineer – configuring and maintaining electric drive systems, developing engine control algorithms, working with frequency converters and positioning systems. Renewable energy specialist – designing solar and wind power plants, integrating alternative energy sources into electrical networks, developing energy storage systems. Power electronics engineer – developing energy converters, inverters and rectifiers for industrial applications, designing uninterruptible power supply systems and charging stations for electric vehicles. A career can develop both in the technical direction – design and implementation of electric drives and control systems, and in the managerial direction – management of innovative projects, participation in international research.
«Electric Drive and Control Systems» is the choice of those who strive to create technologies that drive the modern world and become an engineer without whom it is impossible to imagine the future of industry, transport and energy.
