National Contact Point for the «Research Infrastructures» programme
National Contact Point for the «Research Infrastructures» strand of the European Union’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation «Horizon Europe» was established at Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University in accordance with Order No. 838 of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated 13 June 2024 «On the Approval of the List of National Contact Points».
About us
National Contact Point for the «Research Infrastructures» strand of the European Union’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation «Horizon Europe» was established at Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University in accordance with Order No. 838 of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated 13 June 2024 ‘On the Approval of the List of National Contact Points’.
The main objective of the NCP for «Research Infrastructures» is to disseminate information and provide expert advice and recommendations on the implementation of the European Union’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation «Horizon Europe» at national level within the ‘Research Infrastructures’ area.
The main tasks of the NCP are:
providing guidance on selecting the appropriate call for proposals and thematic areas within the «Horizon Europe» programme; advising on administrative procedures and matters relating to contractual relationships; training and support during the preparation of project proposals; distributing documentation (forms, guidelines, training manuals); assistance in finding partners.
Research infrastructures play a key role in the «Horizon Europe» programme, providing scientists and researchers with the necessary resources to carry out high-quality research and innovation.
Physical and virtual resources, equipment, information systems and expert knowledge are made available to all interested parties.
«Horizon Europe» is the European Union’s largest framework programme supporting research and innovation for the period 2021 to 2027. The programme aims to stimulate scientific research, technological innovation and address key global challenges, such as climate change, digital transformation, energy security and public health. The programme’s total budget is approximately 95.5 billion euros.
The programme aims to achieve three strategic objectives:
to strengthen science and technology in the EU by increasing investment in highly skilled personnel and cutting-edge research; to promote the innovative competitiveness of industry, in particular by supporting activities and initiatives with a high technological and innovative impact on the market; addressing global and societal challenges, providing effective responses and developing strategic solutions that positively impact the lives of European citizens. The national network of National Contact Points (NCPs) is a support system for researchers, innovative enterprises and organisations seeking to participate in the European Union’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, «Horizon Europe». It has been established to provide access to information, advice and assistance regarding participation in the programme, as well as to support the integration of Ukraine’s scientific community into the European Research Area.
The network of National Contact Points comprises 22 NCPs:
- 14 higher education institutions
- 4 research institutes of the National Academy of Sciences
- 2 state bodies under the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of the Environment.
