Appeal of the Union of Rectors
Dear colleagues!
In a difficult time for our country, on behalf of the Union of Rectors, I appeal to you to ensure the proper functioning of higher education institutions.
Condemning the violence committed against peaceful citizens of Ukraine, I ask you to organize measures in each educational institution aimed at social protection and assistance to the victims and their families. In particular, to support initiatives to raise funds from students, teachers and employees, as well as to promote the psychological and physical rehabilitation of participants in the protests. If necessary, consider the issue of transferring affected students and those students who have affected families to study at state expense.
We propose, together with student self-government bodies, to organize patronage over the families of the affected.
In these difficult conditions, higher education in Ukraine should be a model of humanism and unity in society.
