Meeting of students with employers — representatives of the Aktiv Group of Companies

On May 22, 2014, a meeting of students with employers – representatives of the Aktiv Group of Companies took place at the department of software tools as part of the TEMPUS Desire project «Development of courses on embedded systems using innovative virtual approaches for the integration of science, education and industry in Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia». This structure has been present on the market of IT technologies since 2004, develops software and provides services in the field of distance education.

As the head of the personnel department, Olesya Khizhnyak, said, today the rapid and high-quality implementation of e-learning technologies is one of the most urgent issues for universities, companies and educational centers. Virtually all major universities in the world have long been using electronic courses on a par with traditional face-to-face ones, which makes the learning process more flexible, convenient, and in line with the requirements of the times.

What gives universities the use of e-learning technologies:

• increasing the prestige of the educational institution by providing a wide selection of educational programs and courses in a format convenient for students;
• the opportunity to exchange work and educational experience with other educational institutions (including foreign ones);
• conditions for studying students with disabilities;
• flexible study schedule.

The leading specialist of the company, Anatoliy Guskov, spoke about the requirements for the competencies of graduates who plan to realize themselves in the field of web development: knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, Node JS, the ability to design databases, apply object-oriented programming practices, experience working with other JavaScript libraries and frameworks, experience in developing or optimizing projects with a high load.

It was especially emphasized that when evaluating an applicant, analytical mindset and desire to develop are important.

The parties discussed the possibilities for students to undergo educational and technological, pre-diploma practice, as well as the implementation of diploma projects on the subject of the company. In addition, cooperation between ZNTU and Aktiv in the field of development and implementation of an electronic learning system based on the LMS Moodle is promising.
