Meeting of students with employers at the software department
On November 14, 2017, at the Department of Software Tools of ZNTU, a meeting of representatives of leading IT companies of the Zaporizhzhia region with students of specialties 121 «Software Engineering» and 122 «Computer Science» was held, which was organized with the support of the international project «Internet of Things: Emerging Curriculum for Industry and Human Applications» (ALIOT, 573818-EPP-1-2016-1-UK-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP) of the «Erasmus+» program of the European Union.
Representatives of the companies Freshcode, Redwerk, Infocom ltd., SQURO, Light IT, Apriorit, UD Tech, OpenGeeksLab, ISD, ZNSO, Fintegro, Computools and Livestream took part in the meeting. During the meeting, students listened to presentations by company representatives with presentations of current vacancies, working conditions, opportunities for internships, internships and training at companies. Students also had the opportunity to provide potential employers with their contact details, to agree on possible internships and internships. The participants of the meeting also received souvenirs and booklets of the companies.
It is nice that among the representatives of the companies participating in the meeting, there were former graduates of the department of software tools. Graduates of the department also hold key management positions at many IT companies in the region and Ukraine. Some students even while studying at the university found their own companies or became regional representatives of foreign companies. This testifies to the high quality of training of students at the department.
Conducting meetings of students with potential employers has become a tradition at the Department of Software Tools. Every semester, representatives of the largest IT firms in the region attend the events of the software department. Also, with the assistance of the Zaporizhzhia City Council, students of the department and teachers are given a free opportunity to attend the IT forum every year. The interest of enterprises in cooperation with the department of software tools is determined by the ever-growing demand for its students and graduates in the regional, all-Ukrainian and global labor markets, as well as the fact that the department of software tools is the largest IT department in the region in terms of the number of students and graduates and has a significant impact on the regional labor market in the IT industry.
Wide involvement of scientific and pedagogical staff of the department of software tools in the implementation of international Erasmus+ and Tempus projects, as well as state-budget research works allows the department to constantly update and develop the material and technical base, as well as to ensure full compliance of the department’s educational disciplines with world standards. This arouses considerable interest among potential employers, because graduates of the department possess knowledge and technologies that meet the requirements and needs of the labor market.
