ZNTU at MAKS-2013
The aviation and space salon, which took place at the end of August in Zhukovsky near Moscow, once again did not remain without the participation of our university. The delegation of the Zaporizhzhia National Technical University consisted of rector S. B. Belikov, head of the Department of Aircraft Engine Technology, professor A. Ya. Kachan, associate professor D. V. Pavlenko, dean of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty Glushko V. I. and doctoral student M.V. Sydorenko. presented new developments in the field of aircraft engine construction, aviation materials science and related fields in the «University Science» section at MAKS-2013.
In pavilion F-4 and on the open ground, a large exposition of the achievements of leading Russian and foreign educational institutions in the field of aviation and cosmonautics was presented. Among our neighbors were the stands of such well-known educational institutions as the Moscow Aviation Institute, the Moscow Physical and Technical Institute, the Moscow State Technical University named after M.E. Bauman, Rybinsk State Aviation Technical University named after P. O. Solovyov, Kazan National Research Technical University and others.
Prof. vice-rector for scientific work also took part in the work of the Salon. Yu.M. Vnukov, scientific secretary of ZNTU, prof. Naumyk V.V., a leading employee of Olena Rudskikh’s research department.
I would like to immediately say thanks to our bosses – JSC «Motor Sich», which took on the delivery of exhibition materials and provision of the stand with everything necessary, as well as personally to Vyacheslav Oleksandrovich Boguslaev, who provided comprehensive support, which turned out to be decisive for us. Minister of Investments and Innovations of the Moscow Region G.V. Bondarenko, who visited our stand, noted that such a strategy pursued by Motor Sich and the sensitivity of its manager can only be envied.
Successful studies, as well as an active position in the scientific life of the university ensured participation in the salon of third-year students Oleh Mykhailiutenko and Volodymyr Panin. Acquaintance with the latest achievements in the field of aviation and rocket engineering, an exciting flight program, communication with colleagues from Russian universities made a strong impression on them. After arriving at their alma mater, at the very first seminar session at the TAD department, they told fellow students about their trip in an accessible way.
An agreement in principle was reached with the leading aviation universities of Russia on the exchange of master’s degrees for the purpose of preparing joint diploma projects.
It should be noted that within the framework of the aerospace salon, tripartite negotiations were held with a well-known French company, representatives of JSC «Motor Sich» and ZNTU about equipping the TAD department with a modern stand for testing gas turbine engines. The availability of a modern, computerized stand in the laboratory of the department will significantly improve the quality of education of students in the field of aviation engines and aircraft power systems.
Also, agreements were reached with the management of the world-famous Shtarag machine tool company (Switzerland) on the participation of ZNTU representatives in a seminar to be held in September on the basis of the Ivchenko-Progress ZMKB and the invitation of Swiss professors to give lectures at our university.
The stand of our university, represented by posters, monographs, textbooks and advertising products, aroused considerable interest among visitors. At the conference held as part of the «University science and aviation-technical creativity of youth» section, the developments of our university’s scientists were awarded first degree diplomas. Rector prof. Belikov S.B. awarded a diploma for an active position in the development of scientific developments in the field of aircraft engine construction at the Zaporizhzhia National Technical University and their implementation at the MAKS international aerospace salons. Among the awardees were works devoted to the development of the technology for obtaining semi-finished parts of aviation equipment from titanium alloys using powder metallurgy methods, as well as methods of non-destructive control of the surface layer of the gear wheels of the gas turbine engine based on electromagnetic methods.
