We invite teachers, students, master’s and postgraduate students to take part in the 13th Interuniversity Scientific and Practical Conference «Terms in Scientific Communication»

On November 8-10, 2016, the 13th Interuniversity Scientific and Practical Conference «Terms in Scientific Communication» will be held before the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language at ZNTU at the Department of Ukrainian Studies and General Language Training.

The purpose of the conference is to promote the scientific competence of student youth, to improve the speech and communication culture of students, master’s students, and postgraduate students in scientific discussion, to form research skills, to deepen knowledge of the compulsory academic discipline at the Ukrainian Language (professionally oriented) university.

Plenary and three sectional meetings are planned:

Section No. 1. Functions of terms and peculiarities of their language paradigms in a scientific text (on the material of various sublanguages).

Section No. 2. Functioning of terms in the headings of scientific texts (articles, course and diploma theses, sections and paragraphs of textbooks, scientific manuals, etc.) and the principles of formulating headings.

Section No. 3. Lexical problems of translation of scientific and technical literature (on the material of different sublanguages).

Round table «International terminology in modern professional communication: experience of use, tasks and prospects».

The working language of the conference is Ukrainian.

Students, master’s students, graduate students, teachers are invited to participate in the conference.

Participation in the conference is required by October 10, 2016. submit the following materials:

– application for participation in the conference (last name, first name, patronymic of the author; topic of the report, number and name of the section; place of study (university, faculty, specialty, course); supervisor (name, scientific degree, academic title, position, home address, contact phone number);

– theses of the report (2 printouts on A4 paper in an envelope).

Requirements for abstracts of the report:

– volume – up to 5 pages. A4 format, point 14, Times New Roman, spacing 1.5, paragraph 1 cm., margins – 2 cm each;

– below the name in brackets, the name of the university;

– the last name, initials of the scientific supervisor, scientific degree, scientific title below;

– in the center – the name of the theses of the report in capital letters;

– links in the text – in square brackets, e.g. [2, p. 34];

– examples – in italics;

– literature – according to the alphabet and current bibliographic standard.

Materials drawn up without complying with the requirements or submitted after the specified deadline will not be accepted for consideration.
