We invite students of 3-5 years to participate in the 2015/2016 competition of the «Zavtra.UA» scholarship program!
Dear students of 3-5 years!
All-Ukrainian charitable organization «Victor Pinchuk Foundation – Social Initiative» is conducting an open competition for the selection of the most gifted and purposeful students of leading higher educational institutions of Ukraine as part of the implementation of the charity program: «Zavtra.UA» scholarship program.
Who can become a participant in the competition?
A full-time student of 3 – 6 courses of a Ukrainian university of IV accreditation level, who:
– is interested in science and participates in scientific developments or research;
– actively participates in public and social initiatives;
– strives to change Ukraine by his own actions.
What the contest winners get:
- a monthly stipend of UAH 942. during the year;
- one of the largest network of like-minded people in the country;
- expert, information and financial support of the best collective projects;
- experience in the development and implementation of projects (social, profitable, environmental, technological);
- internship opportunity at the Viktor Pinchuk Foundation, PinchukArtCentre and Yalta European Strategy (YES);
- access to global ideas, speakers and knowledge through participation in the annual YES forum and meetings with world leaders, politicians, businessmen as part of the Public Lectures of the Viktor Pinchuk Foundation
- participation in the annual Zavtra.UA Youth Forum and Climate Change Camp ecocamp;

The scholarship is awarded by the Fund to the Scholar within 12 calendar months: from June 1, 2016 to May 31, 2017 inclusive.
How will the competition take place?
Phase 1: October 2015 – January 2016
Submission of documents to the Program by contestants. Processing of submitted document packages and evaluation of letters of recommendation, motivational letters and substantiation of scientific work.
Stage 2: February – March 2016
Evaluation of competitive work by professional experts and awarding of points for scientific activity.
Stage 3: March – April 2016
Assessment of personal potential of contestants during one-day face-to-face competitions
Announcement of competition results:
May 2016.
How to participate in the competition?
In order to take part in the contest, it is necessary to register electronically through the registration form on the contest website www.zavtra.in.ua from October 15 to November 30, 2015 inclusive and download electronic package of documents (rar, 84 KB).
The searcher has the right to submit only one paper to the competition in accordance with the approved list of scientific areas and on the condition that this competitive paper is submitted for participation in the competition of the «Zavtra.UA» scholarship program for the first time.
Scientific works of teams of authors are not allowed to participate in the competition. If the scientific work was published in co-authorship with other authors, then the competitor must clearly indicate what exactly he did, and submit a description of his part of the work to the competition. Otherwise, the work will be considered plagiarism.
The application and registration form for participation in the contest are filled out in Ukrainian. The competition work and feedback can be submitted in Ukrainian, Russian or English. Other documents can be submitted in the original language.
List of documents submitted to the competition:
Mandatory submissions:
1) application for participation in the competition – 2015/16;
2) independent competitive work (scientific research) of a student in a scientific direction determined by the Foundation, with a volume of no more than 8 printed pages (16,000 characters with spaces) in Ukrainian, Russian or English in the format determined by the Foundation;
3) scanned feedback from the scientific supervisor (or the corresponding department, or another authoritative scientist working in the relevant scientific field).
The review must provide a general description of the contestant and his inclination to independent research work, outline the original contribution of the contestant to the main stages of scientific research (in setting and performing the task, formulating conclusions, etc.). If the contestant submits a work to the competition of the «Zavtra.UA» Scholarship Program not for the first time, the scientific supervisor (or the scientist who recommends the work) must separately certify in the feedback that the submitted work is new and is not a repetition of the works (indicate their names) that were submitted to the competition of the Scholarship Program earlier. If the work is a continuation of works previously submitted to the Program competition, the feedback must clearly indicate the new results obtained and other elements of scientific novelty compared to previously submitted works.
It is necessary to specify data about the person who recommends the job and his contacts in accordance with the requirements of the Application for participation in the competition.
The feedback must be certified by the signature of the person who recommended the job and the seal of the university (or scientific institution where the person who recommended the job works);
4) scanned recommendation letter.
The recommendation letter must contain confirmation of at least one of the social or community activities specified in the Application-2015. The recommendation letter must be filled out in full, according to the approved form, and be sealed with the recommender’s signature. If the recommender is a scientific supervisor, points for the letter of recommendation are not awarded;
5) motivational letter, which should contain: justification of the reasons for which the contestant wishes to become a scholarship holder; tasks that the plaintiff plans to solve within the framework of the Program; the contestant’s vision of his role in the Program community;
6) justification of scientific work, in the format determined by the Foundation;
7) this year’s photo of the contestant, taken within the last 6 months (passport format).
If available:
1) a scanned copy of a document confirming the scientific activity of the contestant. For example: the presence of a publication, approval at a scientific conference, a diploma of victory and a prize place at a scientific competition (Olympiad), a patent, etc. WARNING! To participate in the competition, a scanned copy of only one of the above-mentioned elements of public approval is submitted (to choose from: either a publication or a diploma of winning the competition). In case of absence or submission of an illegible scanned copy, points for scientific activity will not be awarded.
Please note that it is necessary to provide scanned copies of the pages with the original data of the publication/conference (cover and spread) and table of contents/programme, a scanned copy of the first page of the text of the article/abstracts; or a scanned copy of a diploma of victory or a prize-winning place at a scientific competition (Olympiad), or another document confirming the contestant’s scientific activity. Ordinary texts of articles/conference programs in Word are not included.
2) copies of documents confirming the public and social activities of the contestant. For example, the availability of diplomas, certificates, letters of thanks, official/recommendation letters, photos certifying participation in social projects, volunteer actions, etc. in the last three years.
