Zaporizhzhia National Technical University is glad to welcome new students!
Summer has come, and this means that the admissions committee of our native university will soon begin its active activities. This year’s admission campaign is not much different from last year’s, but for the sake of specificity, I would like to note important nuances.
Zaporizhzhia National Technical University trains specialists at the expense of the state budget of Ukraine and on a contract basis. Admission to the university is carried out on a competitive basis. Competitive selection is carried out based on the sum of the points of the subjects of the certificates of the Ukrainian Center for Education Quality Assessment 2008-2013 (UCEAQA) and the average score of the certificate. Entrance exams are evaluated on a 100-point scale (from 100 to 200).
Certificates with a score lower than the established level (124 points for non-core competitive subjects and 140 points for core competitive subjects on a 100-point assessment scale from 100 to 200 points) are not accepted by the ZNTU admissions committee.
ZNTU provides for the possibility of simultaneous participation in the competition for three areas of training and training in several forms of training.
Graduates of educational institutions of I-II levels of accreditation (colleges and technical schools) who enter the bachelor’s educational and professional programs on the basis of the obtained educational and qualification level of a junior specialist in a related field are admitted to the first year (for an abbreviated program) or senior years (for a program with a normative term of study for vacant places). Admission of this category of applicants is carried out based on the results of a professional entrance exam. The professional entrance exam is evaluated on a 100-point scale from 100 to 200 points.
When entering ZNTU, the category of applicants from among persons with physical disabilities, citizens of Ukraine who received a complete general secondary education abroad in the year of admission, and persons who received a complete general secondary education before 2007 inclusive, participate in a competition for enrollment in studies of their own choice – with the number of points of UCEQA certificates or with the number of points of entrance tests in general education subjects conducted by ZNTU.
In addition, the Department of Military Training of ZNTU carries out a competition for the training of future reserve officers, starting from the third year.
It should also be mentioned about the preparatory courses at the General Technical Faculty of ZNTU, which future applicants have the opportunity to take. Here, students are trained in general education subjects, for which the UCEQA will conduct an external independent assessment, and professional disciplines. It is important that an applicant who has completed ZNTU preparatory courses not only has an even greater chance of successfully passing the external assessment, but also receives up to 20 points, which are added to the competitive score when entering the natural sciences, mathematics and engineering and technical areas of training at ZNTU. However, it is necessary to pass the final certification at the General Technical Faculty of ZNTU in the current year.
The acceptance of documents for admission to the university is carried out from July 1 to July 31, 2013 (for persons who pass creative competitions or entrance exams until July 20) for full-time studies and from August 15 to September 13, 2013 (for persons who pass creative competitions or entrance exams until September 5) for part-time studies, respectively.
