Zaporizhzhia first-league team won two victories over an outsider

Over the weekend, the sports hall of the Zaporizhzhia National Technical University became the scene of two matches of the national championship among first-league teams, in which the leader – «ZAPOZHJZHYA-2-ZNTU» – hosted the outsider – «KRAMATORSK-DYUKFP».

In Saturday’s match, Zaporizhzhia students won a convincing victory – 128:78 (37:15, 27:24, 30:20, 34:19). But the next day, the Kramatorsk team did not look so doomed: at the end of the first quarter they even led for some time, and only a three-pointer from Danylo Sokolenko brought the hosts ahead – 15:14. In the second period, the home team’s advantage reached 10 points (26:16), but before the big break the guests managed to slightly reduce the gap – 28:32. Not the least reason for such fluctuations was that the Zaporizhzhia reserves made an unjustified bet on shots from beyond the arc, of which 14 (!) were wasted. But in the second half of the match, the home team’s advantage, especially in the final ten minutes, was undeniable. As a result – a significant victory – 94:63 (15:14, 17:14, 25:16, 37:19).

The Zaporizhzhia team’s scorer list after two matches was led by Illia Mikheyev (47 points), who also became the most valuable player of the first game with 36 efficiency points. The rest of his teammates have the following performance indicators: Ragimov – 46 points, Sokolenko – 33, Myasoyedov – 25, Morozov – 22, Vadim Bykov and Titov – 19 each, Rovinsky – 6, Tymoshchuk – 5.

Having scored 27 points, the Zaporizhzhia reserve team confidently leads the first league, ahead of the closest pursuer – Odessa team «Dynamo-BIPA» by 9 points. It is in Odessa on April 1 and 2 that «ZAPOZHZHYA-2-ZNTU» will play the next two matches of the championship.
