Zaporizhzhia is scientific

On March 2, the first meeting of the Zaporizhzhia Scientific Information and Analytical Forum was solemnly held within the walls of the Zaporizhzhia National Technical University.

Supporting the initiative of philanthropist Oleksandr Boguslaev, the public organization «Zaporizhsky Vector» together with leading scientists and specialists of Zaporizhzhia higher education institutions held organizational meetings.

As part of the meeting, a certificate for the purchase of a Zenitech WL-320 CNC lathe for the Zaporizhzhia National Technical University was presented. We consider this a starting point in the activities of the Scientific Forum and the beginning of the creation of the «Zaporizhzhia Scientific» coordination center.

At the forum, representatives of Zaporizhzhia higher education institutions spoke about the level of development of regional science, future prospects and existing problems in this area.

The participants of the event decided that the main tasks of «Zaporizhzhia Scientific» are:

1. Carrying out a constant analysis of the state of university science, its connection with basic regional firms and enterprises, state bodies and local self-government bodies;

2. Mutual informing of scientific structures and the scientific public of the city about existing municipal problems and problems of regional business; coordination of efforts aimed at finding their optimal solution;

3. Systematic informing of structural subdivisions within the polygon «Government – Public – Business – Science»; search and concentration of resources for the implementation of projects designed to solve regional and municipal problems;

4. Creation of an effective system of implementation of theoretical scientific developments in the work practice of regional enterprises and firms, bodies of regional state power and local self-government;

5. Systematic participation of science representatives in the development of the City Development Strategy, its adjustment and implementation.

6. Involvement of a wide range of the public in this process.

Solving the listed problems, according to the Forum participants, should serve a common goal – optimization of joint efforts aimed at the further development of the region.

The management of the information and analytical forum is entrusted to the Coordinating Council «Zaporizhzhia Naukove».
