Tasks of engineering education for Industrial Revolution 4.0

On November 20, a meeting of ZNTU students and teachers took place with the General Secretary of the Network of Universities of the Black Sea Region (BSUN) Eden Mamut.

Eden Mamut is also a professor of engineering thermodynamics, thermal energy management and renewable energy sources at Ovidius University (Constanța, Romania); Director of the Institute of Nanotechnology and Alternative Energy Sources; PhD professor of alternative and renewable energy sources at the University of Bucharest. The guest’s main research fields are: multiscale thermo-fluid modeling; analysis and optimization of complex energy systems; renewable energy sources; sustainable transport systems, etc.. He is the author of 95 articles, 12 books and several patents registered in Germany.

Mr. Eden made a presentation on the topic «Engineering Education for Industrial Revolution 4.0» (PDF, 7 MB), in which he emphasized the current trends in the development of world industry, the features of Industrial Revolution 4.0, as well as current tasks The network of universities of the Black Sea region, which today unites 120 universities from 12 countries, including ZNTU.

Professor Mamut talked with those present at the meeting and visited the ZNTU laboratories. In particular, the laboratory of embedded systems and remote engineering (department of software tools), laboratory of aircraft engines (department of aircraft engine technology), educational center DELCAM (department of metal cutting machines and tools) created within the framework of the TEMPUS DESIRE project.

According to the decision of the Scientific Council of ZNTU, Professor Eden Mamut was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of ZNTU.

In the evening, Mr. Eden took part in a solemn ceremony celebrating the 115th anniversary of technical education in the Zaporizhzhia region and University Day.
