One step closer to the final: participants of the all-Ukrainian project «Aviator-2016» solved business cases

Participants of the charity project «Aviator-2016» came close to its final: on March 23, they passed the fifth stage of the all-Ukrainian educational competition, which is held annually by the Boris Kolesnikov Foundation.

This time, the expert council of the project set a difficult task for the contestants: to solve an aviation business case in an hour – a real situation faced by industry specialists. 339 students from nine professional Ukrainian universities and colleges successfully coped with the task and offered their effective and creative options for solving cases.

Sofiia Mudryk, director of the Boris Kolesnikov Charitable Foundation: «For the five years of the existence of the Aviator project, the contestants faced the solution of business cases for the first time. As the organizers of the competition, we are interested in how they will show themselves in business planning, demonstrate their theoretical knowledge and analytical abilities, and apply practical skills. All this will definitely be needed by students in the future, because many employers often make business cases part of interviews in order to get information about how much the applicant knows the industry and how quickly and efficiently he is able to solve problematic issues.»

Students from the National Aviation University and National Technical University of Ukraine «Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» (Kyiv), Kharkiv National Aerospace University named after M.E. Zhukovsky «KHAI», Kirovohrad Flight Academy of NAU, Dnipropetrovsk National University named after Oles Honchar, Zaporizhzhia National Technical University, Slavyansky, Kryvorizky and Kremenchug Colleges of NAU, Zaporizhzhia Aviation College named after OG Ivchenko diligently prepared for passing the stage. For many, it turned out to be difficult, but useful and interesting.

«Solving an aviation business case is the best way to determine a student’s level of knowledge and practical training, his interest in the future profession, the opportunity to think outside the box and be confident in his abilities,» said Daria Ghirushta, a participant of «Aviator-2016». – The Boris Kolesnikov Foundation selects smart and capable contestants for a trip to the Farnborough International Air Show, and the case-solving stage will help determine the really strong finalists who will compete for a trip to London.”

We remind you that the final of the Aviator-2016 project will be held in April: about 200 students will defend their motivational presentations before the expert jury of the competition headed by the famous designer Dmytro Kiva.

According to the results of the creative task, one hundred winners of the competition will be determined, who will visit the Farnborough International Aviation Forum in Great Britain in July.
